Abstract
Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia is an uncommon secretory B cell malignancy characterized by heavy accumulation of monoclonal IgM in the plasma associated with infiltration of marrow, lymph node, liver and spleen by plasmacytoid lymphocytes.
We have experienced one case of Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia in 55-year-old man, who visited the emergency room due to dizziness, headache, gum bleeding and blood tinged sputum. Serum protein electrophoresis showed the sharp M-peak in the
gamma-globulin region, which was identified as a IgM, kappa type by immunoelectrophoresis. Bone marrow findings showed small lymphocytic and plasmacytoid lymphocytic infiltration.
We report this case with review of literatures.
